How to enable SIP/DVoB on Speedtouch Routers

If you have a SpeedTouch router that was supplied to you by Demon and your Demon Voice over Broadband service is not working, you may need to make some simple changes to alter the configuration of your router. Please ensure that you are using a computer that is connected to your SpeedTouch router before following the advice in this document.

Windows
If you are using a Windows based PC such as Windows XP, you will need to perform the following:

Click the ‘Start’ button

 

Click ‘Run ’.

 

In the ‘Run’ box type in

‘telnet 192.168.254.254’

and then click the ‘OK’ button.

 

A Window will appear asking for your username, type in

‘admin’

(case sensitive) and then press the ‘Enter’ key, you will then be prompted for the router password, enter

‘DemonCPE’

(case sensitive) as the password and again press the ‘Enter’ key to logon to the router.

Once logged into the router you will then need to enter each of the following commands, one at a time pressing ‘Enter’ after each one.

 nat unbind application=SIP  port=sip

 saveall

 system reboot

The router will then restart and your router will be SIP/DVoB enabled.
